Art Direction

Art is one of those things that follows the classic principle of, “it is what it is”. While this is true, and there is no right or wrong or hierarchy to art and presentation, it is also true that art can and must be utilized to help communicate a message. So long as the art helps you achieve this communication, then it is successful.
Art for the sake of…consistency!
Frequently, the dispute arises behind which particular artistic style to implement, and that is typically followed by a heated discussion about which style is better. It matters not what style of art you implement. The important thing is to remember that the art’s number one job is to help communicate a message.
Why does your art need direction?
Sometimes when we become so immersed into a project, or it has many complexities and requirements, a little perspective is difficult to achieve when it comes to identifying the messages being sent. Whether you have a campaign with one simple message, or dozens of messages, artistic direction is important to maintain the consistency of your messages.
I love addressing these types of matters and would love to hear about your project and how I might be able to help you communicate with artistic direction.
